Grandparents Pageant
Celebrate Grandparents’ Day in a unique way this year! Nominate your grandparent to be the Best Spotsylvania Grandparent at the 1859 County Fair being held September 12-13, 2009. Both the Grandparent and Grandchild will be honored at a ceremony on September 13. There will be five winners in all, one from each age group based on the Grandchild’s age on September 13th: 5 and under,
6 – 10, 11 – 15, 16 – 20, and 21 and older.
Nomination forms are due by September 8, 2009.

Sign up to show off your handiwork & skills in the 1859 County Fair Agricultural and Handcrafted contest. We are looking for participants in the following categories;

Re-enactors Wanted!!
Our 1859 Fair is taking place before the start of the Civil War and we would like to demonstrate the Militia's that existed in Virginia during this time. There will be various demonstrations including drills, recruiting and camp life. We will also have a period photographer on site to demonstrate Tin Type Photography.
