8/19/2015 - Construction begins on Dominion Raceway buildings in Spotsylvania

Construction began this week on two buildings at the Dominion Raceway complex in Spotsylvania County, according to communications director for the raceway JD Wright.The two Dominion Raceway buildings—a main complex and a pit building—were designed and built in pieces off-site by Construction Management Inc. and Butler Manufacturing, and are being assembled at the raceway by DLR Contracting.

The three-story, 36,600-square-foot main complex will house race control, VIP and hospitality suites, a Driver’s Club lounge, raceway retail space, The 118 Bar and Grill and a party deck where patrons can eat while watching the races. The building will overlook three courses, the road course, oval track and drag strip.The 3,864-square-foot pit building is being constructed in the center of the oval track.

This phase of construction puts the raceway on track for a spring 2016 completion date.
