Targeted Industry Process:
Ensuring that all
projects meet both State and Local codes and
requirements in a rapidly growing community a can
make the project approval process lengthy. In
order to address this issue, Spotsylvania County
Community Development has created a process designed
to significantly reduce the project review and
approval process for Targeted Industries.
Targeted Industries are projects that have been
identified by the County as providing significant
economic benefits, including the creation of high
paying employment opportunities or the expansion of
the County’s industrial tax base. Projects
identified as Target Industries will be placed on a
fast track for the review and approval process. The
process involves the following guidelines which
prospective applicants must follow in order qualify.
The initial step will be a meeting with the
Department of Economic Development.
