Virginia's Business One Stop system is a service
provided by the Virginia Department of Business
Assistance. The purpose of the Business One Stop is
to accelerate business formation in the Commonwealth
and thereby contribute to our economic prosperity.
The Business One Stop's New Business Wizard provides
specific licensing, permitting and registration
requirements for the user's business situation and
assists with partial completion of the necessary
forms. As long as a user provides the system with
complete and accurate information, the New Business
Wizard will walk the user through the entire process
of establishing a new business in Virginia, ensuring
that each step is completed in the proper order.

In the
Department of Economic Development, we believe that
on-site, face-to-face visits with local business
leaders are essential to understanding the
challenges our businesses face. That’s why we
visit on average one to two businesses a week, so we
can learn first-hand how their operations are run
and what their specific needs are. These visits not
only give us an opportunity to assist the individual
business, they also help us to identify broader
trends and area-wide issues that may generally be
affecting business expansion in Spotsylvania County.
In particular, we hope to identify any barriers to
progress that could be attributed to local
