Brigade Board™ offers homeowners a new and improved product over traditional foam or hollow back siding. The creation of the Brigade Board™ system began with the concept of using enhanced current day technology to invent a method in which vinyl and insulation can present a uniform exterior structure that allows its internal components to form a solid substance that automatically adjusts to ambient temperatures, humidity, and yearly structure movement. This solid system, for the first time in the history of exterior veneer sidings, establishes a solid system that joins itself to the outer most area of a house while providing free movement of all parts as they act in unison to protect, beautify, and add extra security to your walls from insects, mold, mildew, fire, weather, and human invasion.
Brigade Board™ free-floating system minimizes oil canning and allows moisture to escape, drastically minimizing problems with mold and mildew. The foam is contoured to the shape of the vinyl creating a solid and durable exterior surface that also resists dents.
Brigade Board was developed by Georgia Foam (Gainesville, GA) using high-quality vinyl siding from Vytec, an Owens Corning company. The expanded polystyrene (EPS) insulation produced by Georgia Foam has an R-value of 4.0 per inch of thickness. EPS in Brigade Board in conjunction with vinyl siding profiles produces an R-value up to 3.0. The standard .040 mil thickness is used for the construction trade and Brigade Board™ Premium Vinyl .044 mil thickness offers the extra benefits of the TruColor protection formula from Vytec.
Brigade Board is currently available in 16 colors and two profiles: traditional clapboard and Dutch lap. Within the next several months a 6” beaded and straight lap will be available.
Georgia Foam working with Western Wood Products developed Brigade Board based on decades of experience in building products.
